Cheryl McKenzie founded Stone Medical Management & Consulting Group with the intent on providing all physicians with great service and knowledge to help them build striving and successful medical practices.
She understands the growing need in the medical community for physicians to have the support to develop viable resources in order to off set decreased revenues from insurance companies.
She is an advocate in the community to help educate all physicians on the need to participate in a (HIE) Health Information Exchange by using an electronic medical record systems to help disseminate information into the healthcare community and tackle the minority health care disparities that plague our nation.
She currently holds the position of Practice Administrator for a 6 provider practice specializing in Family Practice, Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. She is in charge of the daily operations and a staff of 18 employees. She has increased annual revenue by 32% her first year of employ along with increasing patient volume and patient satisfaction. She has been on the forefront for spear heading MedPeds to achieve their NCQA certification which has resulted in increased fee schedules and pay for performance from insurance companies.
Prior to MedPeds Cheryl was a part of the Senior Management Team at Medical Group Management Division a division of The Southern Maryland Health System in Clinton, MD.
She held the title of Senior Practice Manager in charge of the daily operations for 5 medical offices to include Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Otolarynology (ENT) and OB/GYN. She provided ongoing support for the medical offices with special attention to operational processes and the automated infrastructure of the organization. She was responsible for the development and implementation of medical office employee performance assessment tools, evaluations and incentive programs.
Cheryl is member of (PAHCOM) Professional Association of Health Care Office Management, (MGMA) Medical Group Management Association, Maryland Chapter and she sits on the (PAAC) Practice Administrators Advisory Committee for Carefirst BC/BC insurance company.
